Personal Notes:

John and his parents emigrated from England about 1870 to St. Mary's, Canada and to North Dakota in 1879. Later the family separated, and Bill settled in Missouri. The rest of the family migrated westward through Montana, Idaho, and into Washington, where they took a timber claim in Milan. They also lived in the Fort Spokane area. Sister, Lucy settled in Wenatchee, Wa.; sister, Amy stayed in Spokane, Wa.

John and Lorinda married in Spokane, Wa.; but were from Milan, Wa. at the time. They lived in Idaho, eventually moving to the Lake City area of Seattle, Wa. John worked for the railroad, farmed, worked as a lumberjack, and as a truck driver. While at the railroad, John worked in the dispatcher's office, and with the section crew. He died as a result of strokes, on July 22, 1949. Lorinda worked out of her home as a dressmaker. She died as a result of a cerebral hemorage on December 22, 1970.
John died at home= 3120 E 115th, Seattle, Wa. Per certificate of death=#771-371, WaSt Dept of Health. Burial in Washelli Cemetery, Seattle, Wa. Death from heart failure at 9 pm caused by hypertension(10 yrs). Services- Adams Forkner Funeral Home.

Info from "Marriage Return" #5154 filed 8/15/1903 in Spokane, Spokane, Wa. Witnesses were Bertha E. Owen and Albert Blaylock(brother of bride) and her father, J.R. Blaylock. Married by GW Stocker, Justice of the Peace. Both young people are from Milan, Wash. It was the first marriage for each. The marriage took place in Spokane, Spokane, Wa. John was 24, Lorinda was 16. His occupation was listed as Saw Mill Man. Parents of the bride were Joseph Richard Blaylock and Sarah Lottie Eakins. Marriage took place on same day license was issued.

Application and marriage certificate information from Spokane County, Office of Frank J. Glover, County Auditor and Recorder, Spokane, Wa. Letter to me dated Nov. 15, 1966:
Certificate #237- Book 6. Witnesses were Mrs. Bertha E. Owen and Albert Blaylock. Ceremony was performed by Justice of the Peace, G. W. Stocker and took place Aug. k15, 1903. Permission for the bride to marry was given on the application and was signed by J. R. Blaylock. Letter signed by E. Pruitt, Deputy.
