Charles and Lucy homesteaded in Creston, Washington and then moved to Coulee City, Wa., moving to Wenatchee, Wa. in 1911.
Charles had five children by his first wife. She died in childbirth with the last child, Florence.

Thornbrue Rites
Funeral services for Charles Asahel Thornbrue, 75 year old pioneer of the state, will be held from the Jones and Jones chapel Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Stanley Logan officiating. Interment will be in the Wenatchee Cemetery. The John W. Ferguson post of the Sons of Veterans will officiate at the graveside. Pallbearers will be Fred Paul, D. L. Stevens, Charles Flanigan, S. B. Smith, E. A. Goodhue and Ed Ferguson.
