Floyd A. Rohlman, 81, a 49 year Wenatchee area resident, passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 30, 1998, at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee. He was born on April 21, 1917, in Palisades to Simon Jacob and Annie (Houseworth) Rohlman. He was raised and attended school in Palisades. During the latter part of the 1930's, Floyd worked on the Grand Coulee Dam construction project.

He met and married Helen Johanna Bartholomew on March 18, 1939 in Grand Coulee. In the early 1940's, they moved to Entiat, where he managed an orchard until moving to Seattle during World War II. He worked as a boilermaker in the shipyards for the Puget Sound Machinery Depot during the war. At the conclusion of the war, they moved back to Palisades where he ran a hay ranch, prior to moving to East Wenatchee in 1949. For the next few years, he worked his regular job in the auto body repair department of North Central Chevrolet, as well as building three homes in East Wenatchee. In 1951, he went to work for Great Northern Railroad. He retired from the railroad in November of 1980. The Rohlman's have since continued to make their home in East Wenatchee. Mr. Rohlman was a former member of Wenatchee Aerie No. 204 Fraternal Order of Eagles in Wenatchee.

His favorite things included going dancing, traveling in his recreational vehicle, trail riding on his motorcycle and fishing, especially with his grandsons.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Helen J. Rohlman, East Wenatchee; one daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Tom (Sharon) Fraley, East Wenatchee; one brother, Leroy Rohlman, East Wenatchee; four sisters, Lillian Johnson, Ephrata, Helen Davis, East Wenatchee, Alice Bower, Richland, and Marie Stoner, Yakima; two grandsons, Jerrod Goodwin, Spokane, and Sean Fraley and his wife, Kim of East Wenatchee; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harold and Edward Rohlman; and two sisters, Lorenca Fenton and Geraldine Bowers.

At his request there will be no services held at this time. Friends who wish may make donations in his name to Central Washington Hospital, Oncology Unit, c/o 1300 Fuller St., Wenatchee, Wash., 98801. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
