Waterville-- Mrs. Hilda "Toots" Gormley, Watervill, a resident of Douglas County for the past 58 years, died Friday at her home following a sudden illness.
She was born Hilda Westergard at Foxwarren, Canada. As a small child she moved with her family to North Dakota where she spent her early life. In 1923 she married Ted Dalrymple and they made their home at Palisades for 17 years. Mr. Dalrymple preceded her in death and in 1940 she moved with her family to Waterville where she served as clerk of the Selective Service Board of World War II. Mrs. Gormley served as Douglas County Clerk from 1947 until she retired in 1975.
She married Percy B. Gormley July 17, 1948 at Coeru d' Alene, Idaho.
She attended the Waterville Federated Church and was a member of the Waterville Grange and the Douglas County Pomona Grange.
Surviving are a daughte, Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Hosfeld, Wenatchee; a son, Ted L. Dalrymple, London, England; a brother, Peter Westergard, Grand Forks, N D; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy in 1977.
