Carl Lawrence Nielsen
Carl Lawrence Nielsen, 67, of East Wenatchee, a longtime gasoline truck driver, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 1989 in Central Washington Hospital. He was born Sep. 3, 1922, at Seattle to Carl L. and Gertrude O. (Dalrymple) Nielsen. He lived in Seattle until 1926 when he moved with his parents to Palisades. He attended schools in Palisades and at Wenatchee High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942, serving during WWII in the Pacific Theater aboard the USS Griffen. He was honorably discharged in 1945.
Mr. Nielsen married Bessie Corderman on Oct. 7, 1945, at Waterville and they made their first home in Cashmere, later moving to East Wenatchee. Mr. Nielsen worked for several years as a gasoline truck driver for Thrush Fuel. He later went to work for Wenatchee Petroleum as a truck driver until 1985.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie, at home; one son, Michael Nielsen, East Wenatchee; three daughters, Mrs. L. H. (Janet) Siler, East Wenatchee, Mrs. Frank (Trudi) Rochon, Bellingham, and Mrs. Jim (Carolyn) Hansen, Everett; one sister, Mrs. Leroy (Gertrude) Rohlman, Plain; one brother, Leonard Nielsen, Farmington, NM; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley.
