Letter from her mother Louie Dalrymple dated July 8, 1920 tells of her death.
Newspaper article says parents were Mr. and Mrs. Wm Dalrymple, 1802 Weldon Ave. Father wa s a flag man on the Grand Trunk railroad tracks. Died on a Friday and buried on a Tuesday.

"GIRL IS DROWNED AT LOGAN BRIDGE"
"Father Works to Recover Body, Not Knowing Victim Was His Daughter"
"Viola Dalrymple, 15-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Dalrymple, 1802 Weldon ave. , was drowned Friday afternoon at 4:08 in the Grand river when she fell from the Logan stree t bridge. It is believed Miss Dalrymple was crossing the bride (spelling) when a sudden gus t of wind lifted her hat from her head, carrying it over the side of the structure. It is tho ught she reached suddenly for the hat and in doing so, lost her balance and toppled into th e river.
"Her father, William Dalrymple, is employed as a flagman on the Grand Trunk railroad tra cks at Logan st. and heard the splash as his daughter's body struck the water. He hurried t o the bridge where he was informed that a man had fallen into the river. Dalrymple immediatel y rushed to his shanty in quest of a rope to aid in rescuing the victim. Upon his return, Dal rymple worked industriously with the police officers and when the body was found a few minute s later, his surprise and grief were unbounded when he identified the girl as his daughter.
"Funeral services for the girl will be held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at Joy's under taking chapel. Interment will be held at Mr. Hope cemetery. Miss Dalrymple is survived by he r father and mother and three sisters, Mabel, Myrtle, and Flossie."
