Laid at Rest
Funeral of Mrs. C. Muff was held yesterday
The funeral of the late Mrs Caroline Muff, relict of John Muff, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jacob Rossberg on Sunday, was held yesterday afternoon with services at SS Peter and Paul's German Church. The interment took place in the old cemetery. The deceased, was 67 years old and leaves two daughters, Mrs. Rossberg and Mrs. Louis Hauswirth, to mourn her demise. The husband and father died nearly two years ago. The Muffs were among the first to settle on a farm in this section of the country. They were experts at tilling the soil and were successful. The products from their farm always found a ready market in the twin cities.

Buried Dec 4, 1900 in the Old Protestant Hancock Cemetery, Hancock, Mi.

Another newspaper article about Caroline's death lists her as dying at her other daughter's home:

Death of Caroline Muff

Mrs. Caroline Muff passed away on Iast Saturday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Emma Houseworth near Oskar. The deceased was 67 years of age and the mother of five children, only two of whom are now living, Mrs. Emma Houseworth and Mrs. Jacob Rodlitzbargar. The venerable woman was a regular communicant of St. Peter's and Paul's congregation of Hancock and her funeral was conducted that church by the pastor, the Rev. Mr. Traub, this afternoon. Mrs. Muff was preceded to the grave by her husband, who passed away about a year ago. Her decease marks the close of another busy life, identified with the early days of the copper country.
