In October of 2018 I took a short day hike to Rachel Lake. The lake is in the hills above Lake Kachess off of I-90, just east of the summit. Most of the trail follows a box Canyon, and Box Canyon Creek, up to Rachel Lake. From Rachel Lake you can extend your hike by continuing on to Rampart Lake and Rampart Ridge. I would have done so, but got too late a start, and will have to save it for next time.
