Þórsmörk is a mountain ridge in Iceland that was named after the Norse god Thor (Þór). It is situated in the south of Iceland between the glaciers Tindfjallajökull and Eyjafjallajökull. The name “Thórsmörk” properly refers only to the mountain ridge between the rivers Krossá, Þröngá, and Markarfljót. After a good nights sleep, we had several hours before the bus arrived to take us back to Reykjavik. So we decide to hike around the area going to Sönghellir cave (Song cave), and then making the climb up the small mountain of Valahnúkur. The view from the top is stunning!
