Day 1 of the Laugavegur Trek started out early in Reykjavik, as we boarded mountain busses and headed to the trail head at Landmannalaugar where our first hike would take us to a mountain hut at Hrafntinnusker. The day was misty and cool to begin with, and ended in a solid rain, as we crossed snow fields on our way to the 3400′ summit.
